The Publisher of Our Prattville, Melissa Parker, has ancestral roots in Montgomery. Her great great grandfather, Jacob Sutter, was an early merchant in the capital city, dating back to about 1843. A branch of that family lived in Autauga County in about 1880. She is a graduate of Troy University with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She is retired from the State of Alabama Medicaid Agency after 25 years of service.

The Publisher/Managing Editor of Our Prattville, Marc Parker, has ancestral roots in Prattville. His great great grandfather, Eli Parker, was an early settler in Autauga County and he and his wife, Josephine, had ten children. These Parkers are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Prattville.

Marc is an internet pioneer, creating and programming TalkAbout, one of the earliest known “Social Websites” in 1996. He helped to create VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) with Firetalk (The former Firetalk.com owned by Multitude in South San Francisco) in 1998. He has a US Amateur Radio license and is a graduate of Auburn University, John Patterson State Technical College, and Southern Technical College, holding degrees in Computer Science, Business and English. Marc was a Systems Engineer for both the US Air Force and The State of Alabama Department of Transportation.
