Prattville – A groundbreaking for the Prattville location of Academy Sports and Outdoors will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009, at 9:00 AM, at the site of the Coffee Exchange at the intersection of Cobbs Ford Road and U. S. 82. Mayor Jim Byard, Jr. will join with representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and from Academy Sports for the ceremony.

“During these tough economic times, I am thrilled that we are able to break ground for another nationally known retailer coming to Prattville,” said Mayor Byard. More retails offerings mean more tax dollars, thereby solidifying our city as a retail shopping destination,” he continued.

Southeast Cherokee Construction, Inc., performed the site preparation work. Academy Sports and Hobby Lobby will be anchor stores in this new development.
