Prattville – Prattville Mayor Jim Byard Jr. announced Wednesday that starting Monday, June 22, 2009, the City’s Sanitation crews will begin their garbage pickup routines an hour earlier than normal.

“Our crews normally start their daily routes at 7:00 AM, but due to summer heat conditions, Sanitation crews will begin their routes at 6:00 AM. We plan to return to our normal 7:00 AM pickup time on Tuesday, September 8 (after Labor Day),” said Mayor Byard. “Temperatures are reaching the mid-90’s and higher by early morning, so this time change will allow our guys to start when its cooler and allow them to finish their routes sooner,” continued the Mayor.

If a resident should encounter a problem with garbage pickup, they should call the City of Prattville Sanitation Department at 361-3611.
