Prattville – Looking for a fun family night out…did I mention free? Well look no further, as the city kicks off its Free Family Fun Summer, Friday, June 12, at Cooters Pond Park, with Paul Blart: Mall Cop.

The movie is part of the Free Movie under the Stars series, and will be shown at dark on a 30 ft. inflatable movie screen.

The #1 box office hit focuses on a mild mannered security guard who has to take action and save the day; the shopping mall where he works is taken over by a gang of organized crooks.

The film stars Kevin James of King of Queens fame and is produced by Adam Sandler and James.

Pizza, popcorn, soft drinks, and snow cones will be available, so be sure to bring an appetite.

The free entertainment continues on June 26, the last Friday of the month, when The Tale of Despereaux will be shown at the park. This is an animated film that tells the story of three unlikely heroes – a misfit mouse who prefers reading books to eating them, an unhappy rat who schemes to leave the darkness of the dungeon, and a bumbling servant girl with cauliflower ears. Their fates are intertwined with that of the castle’s princess.
