High Point Town Center nears completion

Prattville – For Prattville residents, the days of heading to Montgomery for major shopping are about to end. The High Point Town Center in Prattville is near completion and four of the anchor stores will open soon.

Mere sketches on a drawing board 3 years ago, the High Point Town Center is about to come to fruition. The 900,000 square foot open air mall boasts 5 anchor stores and many smaller ones.

The shopping complex is being developed by McClinton and Co. of Montgomery and Birmingham based AIG Baker.

Bass Pro Shops, which draws over 4 million visitors annually, was the initial store to open in the High Point Town Center, in August of last year.

J.C. Penney will be the first store to open in the main area of the center on Friday October 3rd at 9 am. It will also include a Sephora cosmetics store inside.

Publix Super Market, the 15th largest retailer in the United States is scheduled to open it’s first Prattville area supermarket on October 29th. This will be the largest Publix in the Montgomery Metro Area.

Belk recently closed the old location at Premiere Place Shopping Center in preparation of the grand opening. The new store is twice the size of the old one.

Tentative opening dates for anchor stores at Prattville’s High Point Town Center are:

J.C. Penney: Oct. 3
Belk: Oct. 15.
Best Buy: Oct. 23
Publix: Oct. 29
