Prattville – Twenty-two year old Sylacauga, Alabama native Jordan Hardy was surprised and thrilled to find out that she had made the cut in the Navistar LPGA. She qualified today to play in the tournament which officially starts on October 1 in Prattville.
“I played 9 holes yesterday and asked about tee times for the qualifer,” Hardy said. “Then they told me I was in the tournament and I was so excited!”
Tuesday’s qualifier was cancelled so Hardy really isn’t sure how she made the cut. The exact details of how the qualification came about were not known at press time.
“I don’t know if the field was just open and I was let in or what,” said Hardy.
A Business Administration major at Birmingham-Southern College, Hardy was named (along with two softball players) BSC Co-Female Athlete of the Year, as she helped lead the women’s golf team to five tournament wins in 2008-2009, a feat almost unheard of in women’s collegiate golf.
Hardy names the Senator course in Prattville as her favorite to play and is looking forward to the Navistar.
“It is such a surreal experience for me right now, to be treated like a pro and to be around professional golfers,” said Hardy.
