Prattville – Prattville diners will soon have another restaurant option on the city’s bustling east side. City Buffet, featuring Chinese, Japanese, and American cuisine, will open its doors the first of next month in the former Hibbett Sports location in Premiere Place Shopping Center.
This is Zhen Weng’s first attempt in running an eatery. City Buffet’s daytime manager Kelly Shi, who moved to Prattville from New York about six months ago, spoke on behalf of Weng whose English is almost non-existent.
“Weng ran another kind of business for about ten years, I think in Tennessee,” she said. “This one will be similar to Buffet City located on Atlanta Highway in Montgomery.”
City Buffet will specialize in Mongolian BBQ, sushi, and stir-fry. There will be three hot bars and three cold bars featuring 200-250 entrees and a dessert bar, as well as four sections for a large number of tables.
“We also have a party room in the back where you can have a party with no rental fee on the room. We charge at least a fifteen percent tip for parties with the price of the meals,” continued Shi.
The City Buffet’s hours of operation will be from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM seven days a week. Lunch will be priced between $5.50-$6.25.
