Prattville – During Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, Council President Dean Argo asked for a motion to hold the adoption of the City of Prattville’s Fiscal Year 2009/2010 General Operating Fund Budget for two weeks.

The motion was made and approved giving the Council more time to further examine and discuss the budget.

Mayor Jim Byard Jr.’s proposed budget plan totals $34,608,881.00. When asked if he foresaw any problems with the passage, Byard laughingly remarked, “Well, I’m just the mayor, so I don’t see any problems with it.”

A work session, open to the public to discuss the next fiscal year’s budget, will be held on September 8.
