Prattville High School Band director resigns

Prattville – According to a source involved with the Prattville High School Band, Jon Bowman, who has been the Prattville High School Band Director for the past four years, announced his resignation yesterday. He has accepted a position as the director of bands for Lowndes County High School in Valdosta, Georgia. Mr. Bowman, a graduate of Auburn University, and his wife Beth have an infant son named Tanner.

The Interim Director of Prattville Bands will be Jeff Grant (currently Assistant Band Director) who has just completed work on a Doctorate Degree in percussion from the University of Southern Mississippi. He holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in music performance from Columbus State University, and the University of Louisville respectively.

The Band Director’s position will be posted for twenty days and after that time the interview process will begin, in the hopes of fulfilling the position by the end of June.
