Prattville – Prattville Mayor Jim Byard Jr. is proud to announce “Roman Harper Day” on Saturday, February 27 in the city.

A Prattville native, Harper doubled as quarterback and free safety for Prattville High School, was a three-year starter at the University of Alabama, and got drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL.

Currently a safety with the New Orleans Saints, he helped lead his team to a victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.

Harper will join friends, family, and supporters at the Doster Center from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM for autographs. Citizens should bring items to be autographed.

Beef O’Brady’s will be onsite with food and beverages available for purchase during this event. Several proclamations will be presented to Harper at noon.

“I look forward to seeing and congratulating Roman as he comes home to Prattville,” said the mayor. “Roman is not only a Super Bowl Champion, but more importantly, he is a role model for both young and old,” he continued.

The event is free and open to the public.
