Prattville – Mayor Jim Byard Jr. has announced that former Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Department employee Sheila Smith Morrissette will become his executive assistant effective January 4, 2010.

Morrissette’s duties will consist of serving as confidential assistant and advisor to the mayor, as well as responsible for the management of the Mayor’s Office which includes coordination of communications and scheduling. The new executive assistant holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Montevallo.

“Having worked with her, I know firsthand that Sheila is a seasoned professional with solid judgment,” Byard said. “With her addition to our leadership team, I am confident that we will continue making progress on our agenda of moving Prattville forward. I am proud to welcome and introduce Sheila to our City of Prattville family,” he continued.

Also on January 4, Ms. Jamie Hatfield will resume her duties as secretary to the mayor.
