Prattville – In honor of Veteran’s Day on November 11, the City of Prattville will join the American Legion Post 122 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1349 in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Autauga County Courthouse at 11:00 AM on that day.
“This is the day our nation has set aside to thank and honor all of the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces. The citizens of Prattville join me in saying, ‘Thank you,’” Byard said. “I hope our veterans know how much our citizens appreciate their service.”
Also in observation of the Veteran’s Day holiday, City offices will be closed and there will be no garbage or trash collection.
Veteran’s Day is observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. It is a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
