Prattville – A reunion will be held of all World War II veterans and guardians who have flown on the first three honor flights at the Doster Center in Prattville November 8 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The event is hosted by the River Region Honor Flight and it marks the beginning of Military Appreciation Week.
“This is an opportunity for our WW II heroes and guardians to get together for an afternoon of fellowship and memories,” said Honor Flight Chairman and Prattville Mayor Jim Byard Jr. “I am looking forward to seeing the men and women of the Greatest Generation and our guardians at the reunion.”
The River Region Honor Flight has organized three previous Honor Flights in which WW II veterans were flown to Washington, D.C. to visit the WW II Memorial and other sites. The next Honor Flight is scheduled for sometime in the spring of 2010.
