Prattville – Smoothies-N-Things Café, located in High Point Town Center in Prattville, is now open for business. The restaurant is located adjacent to JC Penney and offers a wide variety of drinks and food items, as well as free wireless Internet.
Owner and New Orleans native Darian O. Clark moved to Montgomery after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He also operates a Smoothies-N-Things Café in the Capital City.
“I have had the one in Montgomery for about two and a half years and that’s how long I’ve been in the restaurant business,” Clark said.
Clark also stated that he’d been considering Prattville as a location for his second restaurant even before the economy hit a downward turn.
“We had been looking at High Point earlier, then the economy started failing,” said Clark. “But, then they called me to see if I was still interested and I had heard so many good things about Prattville that I decided to do it.”
In addition to many flavors of smoothies (including Roll Tide and War Eagle), the restaurant features some authentic Cajun cuisine: Louisiana homemade gumbo, New Orleans Creole red beans and rice, Cajun jambalaya, and soup d’jour. Also on the menu are eleven different kinds of Panini sandwiches, gourmet sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM-9:00 PM; Friday and Saturday 8:30 AM-11:00 PM; Sunday 11:00 AM-6:00 PM.
A grand opening for the restaurant is slated for January, 2010.
