Montgomery, AL – Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina is another entry in the popular concept of Fresh-Mexican fast food. And, in my opinion, diners will enjoy what the restaurant has to offer.

The chain began in 2000 by BRV, a North-Carolina restaurant franchising company. Founder Bruce Willette and Director of Operations Thang Nguyen realized that the Fresh-Mexican idea was a promising trend and set out to develop a fine restaurant chain.

The eatery uses only the freshest ingredients and specializes in made to order burritos, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, taco salads, and more. The prices are reasonable; a family of four can dine on about twenty-five dollars.

The meats (beef, chicken, pork, steak, and shrimp) are well seasoned. A particular favorite of mine is the grilled chicken, not too spicy with just the right blend of seasonings.

One of my personal choices is the chicken quesadilla (add cheese at least) because this folded tortilla is toasted to perfection and the cheddar is perfectly melted.

For sides, the selections include rice and black or refried beans, chips and salsa, chips and guacamole, and chips and queso.

Kid’s meals (taco, quesadilla, pizza) are $3.49 and served with chips, a cookie, and a kid’s drink.

The atmosphere is casual, the employees are friendly and helpful, and the service is excellent. Overall, I rate Salsarita’s a perfect five tortilla chips.

Salsarita’s is located at 8015 Vaughn Road (in front of the Rave Movie Theater) in Montgomery. Hours of operation are 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM daily.
