At the Movies: May 22, 2009

Terminator Salvation (new, two screens): Action/Science Fiction, show times are 7:00, 8:15, 9:36, 10:50, and 12:10 a.m., rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and language. Film stars Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, and Moon Bloodgood – After Skynet has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust, a group of survivors led by John Connor struggles to keep the machines from finishing the job.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past: Comedy, show times are 7:15 and 10:10, rated PG-13 for sexual content throughout, some language, and a drug reference. Film stars Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner, and Breckin Meyer – a fun-loving bachelor shows up for his brother’s wedding to make a mockery of romance until he is visited by the ghosts of his former jilted girlfriends.

Angels & Demons (two screens): Thriller, show times are 7:00, 8:00, and 10:00, rated PG-13 for sequences of violence, disturbing images, and thematic material. Film stars Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, Stellan Skarsgard, and Victor Alfieri – Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon works to solve a murder and prevent a terrorist act against the Vatican.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine: Action/Science Fiction, show times are 7:00 and 9:30, rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action and violence, and some partial nudity. Film stars Hugh Jackman, Live Schreiber, and Tim Pocock – the story of Wolverine’s escapades encountering many mutants, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (new, two screens): Adventure/Comedy/Fantasy, show times are 7:15, 8:10, 9:40, 10:36, and 12:05 a.m., rated PG for mild action and brief language. Film stars Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, and Owen Wilson – Security guard Larry Daley infiltrates the Smithsonian Institute in order to rescue Jebediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake.

Star Trek: Science Fiction, show times are 7:00, 7:30, 9:50, and 10:20, rated PG 13 for sci-fi action and violence and brief sexual content. Film stars John Cho, Ben Cross, and Bruce Greenwood – the fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals James Kirk and Spock.

Dance Flick (new, two screens): Comedy, show times are 7:30 and 9:50, rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content throughout, and language. Film stars Shoshana Bush, Damon Wayans, Jr., and Essence Atkins – a street dancer from the wrong side of the tracks bonds with Megan White to enter the mother of all dance battles.

Obsessed: Drama/Thriller, show times are 6:50 and 9:25, rated PG-13 for sexual material including some suggestive dialogue and some violence. Film stars Idris Elba, Beyonce Knowles, and Jerry O’Connell – a successful asset manager is blissfully happy in his life until a temp worker begins to stalk him.
