Kelly Hansen is doing a great job with Foreigner by keeping it as original as possible, I mean how could anybody sing those songs as good as Lou Gramm he is the original singer that sung the songs, you can't be identicle as someone. Lou Gramm is a Icon in Rock History! unmistakable voice, Kelly Hansen isn't, he's really good though, that's my opinion, thank you...................

Wonderful to hear all the news. I have always loved the music and it is so sad that trouble brewed and destroyed the once perfect formula. I am glad that Lou is growing stronger and hopefully his faith will strengthen and protect him. It is good that his family has bonded stronger since the loss of both parents, that must have been very hard to cope with while still unwell and so much in the view of the public gaze too. I will always be grateful that I had a chance to see Foreigner perform in Birmingham, England and will treasure that night forever. I look forward to hearing more in coming years from Lou and the band. God bless you Lou and may you continue to gain strength both physical and spiritual.

Lou's voice was superb before he blew it out. I recall listening to early King Biscuit Flour Hour recordings of the first two tours. Many of the songs were sung with improved vocals in Lou's signature style. Lou put 100% into every song. You just cannot do that on tour. On the album, yes, not on tour. The only lead singer in a rock band that has miraculously retained his voice is Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Everyone else has lost the ability to perform most of their greatest songs. There was this infamously repeated excuse for the inability to hit notes "Lou has a head cold." It was used on later King Biscuits recordings and when I saw them during the "4" tour. Even with a strained out voice the way Lou was singing "I've Been Waiting For A Girl Like You" in those days was hauntingly good. They would start out the first verse with only Mick on piano and Lou's vocals and the "I've been waiting..." part was changed for the better. That change was born from Lou's signature style. Once Foreigner began to emulate Joe Elliot and Def Leopard it was completely over for his voice.

I just watched Soundstage featuring Foreigner with Kelly singing. I do think he sounds like Lou. But I agree with Lou that the way Kelly sings the songs probably has a lot to do with it. But that may not be Mick forcing him to do that. If you grew up listening to those songs on the radio, Lou's versions are burned into your brain, and it would be very hard to sing it any other way. Lou is a fantastic singer and I wish him continued success and hopefully improved health!
