Montgomery, AL – A few hundred people came to watch the showing of Inkheart held under the Union Station train shed on Monday night. The skies brightened after the rain fell in Montgomery yesterday and families took advantage of the nice weather for a fun night out.
“We come every time they have movie night,” Monica Allen said. “We live in Montgomery, but we also attend the free movies at Cooters Pond in Prattville,” she added. Monica and her husband bring their two children to the events; Christopher aged ten and Brittany who is four. Allen also remarked that whenever they can enjoy “family time” with the kids at an inexpensive price, they would take advantage of it especially in these hard economic times.
Branch Kloess, Director of Riverfront Facilities, was disappointed at having to move Movies Monday for the second time this month. “The grass was still so wet over at the amphitheater,” he said. “But, it’s a shame we had to move it again because they have that splash pad over there and the kids just love it. Well, maybe next week…”
Be sure to mark your calendar for the last two Mondays in July; Hotel for Dogs will be shown on July 20 and Bride Wars on July 27. Bring your lawn chair, blanket, and picnic to enjoy this great summer family event.
