This week’s canine Pet of the Week is Cojo, Prattville-Autauga Humane Shelter’s very own welcoming front door greeter. He is a good looking Sheltie mix whose silky fur is tri-colored; primarily sable and white hues, with a couple of black dots placed strategically on his adorable face.
Cojo would much rather walk by his master’s side unrestrained and free, but he is working rather diligently on being leash trained. Arriving at the shelter a short time ago, his estimated age is about a year and a half and he weighs in at approximately twenty pounds.
Cojo’s human shelter friends warn that perhaps he should not be around young children at this time because, upon arrival, he was nervous and frightened. But, he is so calm with adults and delights in playing with both his canine and his feline pals. Cojo is hoping that the next time he greets a shelter guest, it will be his very own adoptive parent coming to take him home!
This week’s feline Pet of the Week is aptly named Cupcake because she’s a simply sweet white, grey, and orange Calico. Generally an indoor cat, she will be your best friend forever if you serve her up a treat. Cupcake is litterbox trained, but not declawed or spayed.
Cupcake’s age is determined to be about three to four months old and she is very friendly toward the other kitties. Unfortunately, her owner could not take care of her any longer, but she has certainly won the hearts of everyone who works at the shelter. The feeling is definitely mutual, but Cupcake is searching for that one special someone to share a home with and to love.
